Meet Koshy Mathai, M.D.
Double Board-Certified in Anesthesiology and Pain Medicine
Dr. Mathai earned his Bachelor of Science in Economics from Baylor University before pursuing his medical degree at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical School in Dallas. He went on to complete an Internal Medicine internship at The Reading Hospital and Medical Center, followed by an Anesthesiology residency and a Pain Medicine fellowship at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center (UPMC).
His career includes serving as one of the inaugural physicians at the United Orthopaedics and Spine Center in Bridgeport, West Virginia, where he cared for patients for multiple years. Dr. Mathai also dedicated a significant portion of his career to serving the nation’s veterans at the Central Texas Veterans Health Care System, where he played an active role in advocating for veterans and advancing pain management services for our country's military heroes.
In addition to his clinical work, Dr. Mathai has authored peer-reviewed research, presented at national conferences, and contributed to advancements in the field of pain medicine. His patients value his compassionate approach, dedication to improving function, and expertise in minimally invasive procedures designed to relieve chronic pain.
Outside of medicine, Dr. Mathai enjoys traveling with his wife and daughters. Together, they have visited destinations across the world, including London, Greece, Dubai, Switzerland, Germany, and India, experiences that have enriched both his personal and professional perspective.
