Vanessa Cox

Vanessa Cox was born and raised in Kerrville, TX. She is a Doctor of Nursing Practice, Advanced Practice Registered Nurse, and Family Nurse Practitioner. She graduated with her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Schreiner University in Kerrville, TX with Summa Cum Laude and Dean’s List Honors. For the first 12 years of her nursing career, she served in the long-term care and skilled nursing setting caring for the geriatric population. She then returned to school and obtained her Doctor of Nursing Practice degree from the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio and holds a national certification with the National Nurses Credentialing Center. During her DNP program, she was nominated and selected to attend the American Association of Colleges of Nurses Student Policy Summit in Washington, DC; a prestigious honor. Also, she is an inductee of the Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society of Nursing. During her FNP clinicals, she acquired experience in rural health clinics throughout south Texas caring for patients throughout the lifespan with complex medical problems, family practice primary care in the local hill country performing primary care services across the lifespan, and long-term care facilities treating patients with chronic illnesses and co-morbidities to include diabetes, hypertension, post-acute care, post-surgical, and chronic pain conditions. Vanessa aims to provide high-quality care with compassion and comprehensive pain management to her patients to help improve their quality of life and health outcomes.

In her free time, Vanessa is committed to her family. She loves to partake in outdoor activities such as gardening, hunting, fishing, and archery, as well as caring for their small farm. She is passionate about teaching her children about Christ, how to live off the land, and live a healthy and active lifestyle.
